About Me!!!

download

Hey ya’ll! Young Writer here. I’ve started this website because I really felt that God was leading me to share all of the methods, experiences, and knowledge about writing I’ve learned with other people. I want to encourage, inspire, and come alongside my fellow Christian writers (especially those who are my age…my age being in the college-bound range but those who are younger or young at heart are always welcome!) and share with them my love of reading and creating something beautiful through words and the imagination.

Why do I love writing? Well, because it’s the way I feel closest to God. God is the God of Creation, He created all things, and continues to create. If I can create something small but beautiful, then I’m emulating Him. In that way, He and I are similar (though He can create ANYTHING from NOTHING; I cannot :P) and it is obvious that I was created in His image, as we all are. So, why not write? I know, some days it can be stressful (like a literary puzzle you can never finish, or a plot maze you can never get out of…). Some days I want to throw my laptop out of my window and then burn it with a blowtorch because I can’t find the right words to use. But you know what? Writing is SO worth it. It’s a true joy and privilege to be able to learn and create, and I wouldn’t want to do anything else.

Before you start…

Just know: I’m in NO WAY an expert. I haven’t written a book yet. But I’m hoping and praying that some day I will. Do I have a degree or doctorate on the subject? No. But I am dedicated to learning more and am aiming towards receiving a major in English with a Creating Writing minor in a few years. I’m just figuring out how to do this crazy writing thing one day at a time. Sometimes I discover things that make writing a book easier for me, and I wanted to be able to have an outlet to share my findings in the hopes that I can somehow help you write a book more easily too. So let me be your writing buddy. Share how “the struggles are real” as we like to say here (A LOT). 😛 Tell us about your writing wins and let us celebrate with you because we are all young writers, and this place is for us. I called this website Young Writer’s Draft because none of this information is by any means final or complete. I’m still in the drafting phase, and I won’t ever be finished. Why? Because I never want to stop growing. How about you?

Much love and blessings,

Young Writer <3

About Kelsey!

Hi! This is Young Writer’s assistant administrator/BFF, KelseyDragon17!Self protrait I will be doing guest appearances on this blog periodically (aka whenever I have something good to post [heh] 😛 ). I will also help Young Writer keep up her blog and keep up with comments, think of content, all that good stuff. We both know basically nothing about blogging, so we’re both pretty new to this.

A few things about me, I like creative writing too. I also loveeeee concept art and drawing. I’m not the greatest artist but I like to think I am (hhahahahahaha). Recently I’ve been exploring the digital art world, and hope to be proficient in that soon 🙂

A few guidelines…READ THIS!

This is a website based on Christian morals and standards, which includes the stories/books we write and suggest. We will only promote content we think is appropriate and matches those standards. For this reason, we reserve the right to delete any comments/material we feel is inappropriate and/or use foul language. We want this site to be encouraging and uplifting, so please be respectful and courteous to others while visiting us.

“Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.” ~ Ephesians 4:29

If you follow these guidelines, we should get along fine and we pray that you will grow in your writing as well as grow closer to God through learning to create beautiful things, just like He does everyday, all around us. <3

ENJOY! 🙂
